The composition of the Davidoff Flake Medallions consists of mature Virginia tobacco from selected fields in regions of Virginia and North Carolina as well as pure Perique tobacco from Louisiana. The pronounced aroma of Perique tobacco with the natural sweetness of Virginia tobacco gives this mixture a characteristic taste. The core of mild, fermented Black Cavendish serves to refine and round off the Davidoff Flake Medallions. The blend of Virginia and Perique is pressed into thin layers (cakes) and then stored for maturation before they are spun very tightly around a core of pressed Black Cavendish. This results in a massive tobacco cylinder, which in turn is stored for maturation before it is cut into “medallions” and packaged.
